Shropshire’s Mad March Hare Ball Success

Shropshire branch of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust enjoyed a memorable Mad March Hare Ball at the stunning venue Shrewsbury School’s Allington Hall, at the end of March.

Former National President, Ian Coghill, praised the fund raising of the Shropshire branch, led by Steve Barker. Ian reminded guests: The GWCT research work is a legacy to the future of shooting for generations to come; you can’t spend money when you are dead and gone! So enjoy the evening.”

Balfours were one of the key sponsors for the event which raised some £22,655 for the GWCT. James Trant, Balfours partner, said Balfours were delighted to endorse the work achieved and ongoing: “The Game Conservancy research produces hard facts, which is absolutely critical in retaining sporting shoots, which in turn are a major part of the rural economy.”

Auctioneer, Bernie Hutchinson, created lively bidding in an auction of twelve generously donated lots. Additional sponsors were Newmedica and Midlands Gun Services.
