Promotions driven by client satisfaction

Promotions achieved by three members of the Balfours team to Associate Partners with some 17 years shared experience are awarded to Paula Wells, Cathrine Barre and Matthew Doyle.

They all sight client satisfaction as the most rewarding and motivating part of their work, although they all work in different disciplines and offices within the Balfours team. Managing partner, Rory Galliers says: “The step to associate partner is recognition of each of their dedication and contribution to the business.”

Senior lettings manager, Paula, is based at the agency’s Shrewsbury town centre office in The Square. She says: “I approach my work with integrity and a spirit of servitude, from the challenges, the ever-changing legislation and managing my team with the focus on service. Most rewarding is getting the job done and receiving positive feedback.”

Part of Ludlow agency’s sales team, Cathrine Barre says most satisfying for her is getting the best and final offer for clients and seeing the sale through to “key day.” She adds: “Ultimately that results in some great memories, where I drive past a house recalling the story and smiles of buyers on key day.”

Based at Balfours head office at Oxon, chartered surveyor, Matthew Doyle reflects: “No two days or clients are alike. We will be working on conservation in places and development in others. Then there is more complex research and plans to advise and negotiate, plus of course day to day operations including tenancies and rural property management.”

He continues: “It is this varied workload and partner support that has enabled me to achieve my Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Assessment of Professional Competence. Promotion to Associate Partner is endorsement that I am on the right career path. Balfours ethos is very much in the round, it was immensely satisfying to be part of the Balfours team when we achieved the Three Peaks challenge last year, raising funds for charity.”
