National Newspapers heap lavish praise on Ludlow

The national newspapers are again singing the praises of Ludlow. This time the Daily Express extols the virtues of the thriving medieval market town. “The journalist, who has obviously done his research, describes Ludlow as an architectural gem which boasts more than 400 listed buildings,” explains Scott Kemsley, Balfours Partner.

“As one of Shropshire’s leading estate agents we frequently receive enquires from across the UK and overseas, where people are returning to the UK and want somewhere really lovely to live.”  Ludlow ticks so many boxes as a quintessential market town in the heart of England and so convenient for those wanting to access family, north, south, east and west.

Of the listed buildings, an impressive five are Grade I listed structures – including the town’s castle and a Norman Church. Ludlow’s listed legacy also includes remarkably preserved medieval and Tudor architecture, along with a largely intact original street plan.

Scott adds: “This means people have a genuine and charming environment in which to enjoy leisure and do business. It is brimming with community spirit, a plethora of independent shops, and a host of highly-rated eateries and pubs.

“I have worked in some amazing locations across the world selling property and I wouldn’t argue with the Express when they say: “’Numerous visitors heap praise upon Ludlow and its offerings as a ‘lovely place to visit.’ I say, why just visit, why not come and live and work in Ludlow, or commute from one of the charming local villages that offer lifestyle options that are not viable in many locations; from country walks for mindfulness to dark night skies, Scott adds.
