Sold – Grade II Listed Maes Court

For me personally, one of the most rewarding and memorable moments of 2025 was selling Maes Court, writes Cathrine Barre, Balfours Associate Partner.

Maes Court went on the market with us in July 2024. After other attempts in previous years by two different agents, Balfours were instructed to act on their behalf to find them a buyer to enable them to move forward with their latest project, which was to build their own home.

This was no ordinary property. Maes Court near Tenbury Wells is a Grade II listed, Tudor, Manor House full of character and history with a range of outbuildings, tremendous conversion potential (subject to the necessary planning consents). There are various workshops, stores and stabling, a Folly and 9 acres of landscaped gardens. As a package, it was a truly unique lifestyle or business opportunity for somebody.

At Balfours, as a team we offer a combination of years of experience and expertise with a great understanding of country property. To enable us to give both parties buyers/sellers the guidance and confidence required to get the deal done.

In August 2025, there was a buyer at the table, and an offer was accepted with the keys being handed over last November. Maes Court was finally sold, which was so satisfying. The best part of the job for us here is dealing with good clients, completing the task in hand, and handing the keys over to the buyers. We received a big thank you from the vendors and for us it was another happy client.
