Shropshire Farm sells as bidding exceeds guide price

A Shropshire farm has sold after securing multiple competitive bids and achieving over guide price, illustrating that premium rural assets remain highly attractive to buyers, despite broader market fluctuations.

Agents, Balfours announced the calculated launch of 235 acre/95-hectare Shepton Fields Farm at Pulverbatch, southwest of Shrewsbury, in May. Now, just five months on and sale contracts have exchanged and completed. Delighted with the outcome, Balfours agent, Amy Meldrum-Beechey attributed the efficient and timely sale to the seamless collaboration between the company’s land and estate agency teams.

Amy explains: “The farm comprised of a first class ring-fenced livestock farm, with a four-bedroom farmhouse, plus a historic grade II listed mid-15th century timber-framed Cruck Barn. In addition, Shepton Fields has an extensive range of modern and traditional farm buildings. It was launched to the market with a guide price of £2,250,000, which was briskly exceeded.

“There is no doubt combining our honed agricultural expertise with a highly proactive sales strategy and understanding of the rural market contributed to the timely and agreeable outcome. This illustrates how landowners contemplating a sale should not be put off by global affairs and over-riding market fluctuations. We all know land is a most precious commodity and as such is in short supply.

“At Balfours we are equipped to use our experience to maximise the opportunities that are proven to be out there right now,” Amy adds. For a confidential consultation call Amy on 01743 353511.
