Surge of surfing house hunters yields three horse race

05/01/2015

The surge of surfing house hunters post Christmas will have a third choice come mid January.

As the number of people hunting a new home online surge in January to more than two million, according to Rightmove data; a new online property portal is to be launched.

Founder member of the estate agents’ new website www.onthemarket.com, Tim Main, head of sales at Balfours Property Professionals, says “this is great news for house hunters. It has been a two horse race for some time, with Rightmove and Zoopla dominating. “Onthemarket.com is backed by estate agents nationwide and already represents 4,000 offices post launch on January 26.”

He adds: “We find that people take their eye off the housing market Christmas week, but once we turn the corner into the New Year, the phones are ringing loud as vendors and buyers start to put their life on track for the forthcoming year.”

Shropshire is well represented on the new OnTheMarket.com website, with a number of leading agents including Balfours signed up as “gold” founder members. For potential vendors seeking to market their home Mr Main says, “Put your house in order and on the market now, that way it will have an established presence when nature turns spring on and the traditional spring sales blossom.”

OnTheMarket.com will be a new place to view hundreds of thousands of properties to buy or rent all over the UK with all properties on offer from locally based estate or letting agents.
