Ludlow Town Landmark Changes Hands

A slice of Ludlow’s heritage has been sold. Castle Lodge, the magnificent Grade II* listed medieval town house situated on the edge of Ludlow’s Castle Square has been purchased by a private investor.

Castle Lodge has been privately owned throughout its history, once home to Catherine of Aragon and in the last century was a hotel up until the Second World War; more recently Castle Lodge has been a private dwelling.

Scott Kemsley, Balfours sales manager at Ludlow says: “This is a very unique building and dates from the early 13th century, rebuilt in 1580. It boasts stunning stained glass, a pendant ceiling and oak panelling.

“We don’t know the buyers plans for Castle Lodge, but we do know the buyer is delighted with his purchase,” Scott adds from his new base in Broad Street.
