Spring Sales Start

A four bedroom village cottage has been sold by Balfours Property Professionals.

Stapleton Cottage was offered to the market with a guide price of £520,000, late last autumn. Tim Main head of sales at Balfours says that the property, with a large garden and outdoor swimming pool attracted considerable interest and considering the difficult weather and Christmas break represents a very positive sale.

The 18th century cottage, offered an edge of village location, just 15 minutes south of the county town of Shrewsbury and easily accessible to the major conurbations, including Birmingham and Chester.

Mr Main comments: “Swimming pool aside well presented properties will always sell and while the recession has had an impact, there are people out there who simply want to get on with their lives which in some instances means being active in the property market.”

Also sold this month, Ty Mawr Barns - detached brick barns with full planning permission for conversion to two four bedroom dwellings, set in open countryside with outstanding southerly views. The guide price was £175,000.

Mr Main adds: “We would encourage anyone considering launching their property to the market to take the initiative. It may not be a lively market, but we are experiencing some frustrated buyers who simply want more choice than they are currently being presented with.”
