Possible development in West Felton

A public consultation meeting is to be held on Saturday 25 June at West Felton village hall to discuss the possible development of land at West Felton. The proposed scheme, which is being promoted by Balfours on behalf of the Tedsmore Estate, comprises a mix of residential development including affordable homes, possible community facilities including a bowling green, playground and playing field, together with a unique opportunity to provide a site for a new primary school. This is just the initial stage of a much longer process, which would of course require government funds to build the school.

The hall will be open between 10am and 12 noon for anyone to view the draft plans and representatives of Balfours will be there to answer questions about the proposals.

Karine Swanson, head of planning at Balfours, says: “Our aim is that the scheme should take account of the needs of the village. We therefore hope that as many local people as possible will attend and let us have their suggestions for ways in which the initial proposals might be improved.”
