Believed to date back to the early 1800s, the residence was built by John Carline, for his daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Philip Corbet. The period features worthy of comment include decorative plasterwork coving and cornicing, very well maintained sash windows and an abundance of feature fireplaces in many of the rooms. The principal reception rooms are particularly fine which flood with natural light, afforded by the large sash windows set in panelled, canted reveals.

The inner lobby which leads to the lower ground floor rooms also provides access to the wine cellar, utility room and breakfast room. The kitchen, whilst having been recently updated and modernised to include integral appliances and fitted units, lends itself to fantastic potential for a further extension into the workshop (all potential works/extensions are subject to planning permission consent).

A broad, partly cantilevered stone staircase, with an elegant moulded mahogany handrail rises from the reception hall where half of the landing provides access to a double bedroom, dressing and shower room together with an additional bedroom or study. Five further bedrooms are found arranged over two further storeys, all being served by a family bathroom. One of the bedrooms offers the potential for conversion into a further bathroom (subject to relevant planning/building regulations).

From Shrewsbury town centre continue over the English Bridge and head towards Shrewsbury Abbey with the Abbey on your left hand side. Continue up Abbey Foregate, past the traffic lights, and the property is located on the left before reaching Lord Hill Column.
